Embroidery machines can be very expensive.. especially when you want cute fonts and the ability to do large letters or images. Well if you'd want embroidery for a project here and there - here's a great, free option! If you have ever tries free handing embroidery before you may know it's a bit tricky... keeping your lines straight and all the lettering the same size - well it takes talent! I found this pin a long time ago and the original source no longer exists :( However I do know their trick is about printing the lettering or image on your fabric. You can stencil them, or there are ways to use a printer to transfer images on fabric as well. The other trick to making hand embroidery looking good is to keep all the stitches even with each other. The way to accomplish that is by putting multiple layers of thread on your needle so you only have to stitch each loop once and don't pull too tight on each loop or they will start to look wonky. Keep your loops small so you can keep better control over the length of each loop. And then - practice, practice, practice... not like you have anything better to do, right? Happy Sewing!
